a change of scenery

Saturday -- Two silly kids swimming and doing flips (reason for choosing the nose-covering goggles) in the hotel pool in Maine.

Monday -- snowstorm back at home.

Luckily, knitters are well prepared for such things. Leah recently finished another neckwarmer, knit in bulky yarn and finished off with slightly mismatched vintage buttons.

On the way home yesterday, she also finished a pair of gauntlets/wristwarmers/fingerless mitts, knit sideways in an improvised pattern using yarn we harvested from a clothing swap sweater.

It's amazing how even a weekend away can provide such relaxation and rejuvenation in the middle of winter.
