a few of our favorite things!

Scott was messing around at the torch while making beads for stitch markers a while back and came up with this silly set of Favorite Things -- cupcakes, a chocolate brown sheep, handknit mittens, and frosty beer (or is it ginger ale?)!

We've had such a great time meeting lots of knitters over the past couple of weeks, both online and in person, that we decided it would be fun to keep the good vibes rolling, so we've decided to do random giveaways of some glass bead goodies. The set of handmade glass bead stitch markers above is the first set up for grabs.

All you have to do is leave a comment here with a description or link to blog/Ravelry entry/picture of a favorite thing that you made. Doesn't have to be made of glass or yarn!

In one week (September 30, 6 p.m. EST), we'll do a random drawing from the entries to determine who's the winner of this set.

If you like this idea, please consider subscribing to this blog because there will be more one-of-a-kind stitch markers up for grabs at irregular intervals in the future.

Some details: Each bead is handcrafted from colored glass, without use of presses or molds, by Glastonbury Glassworks. The cupcake bead is 1 cm and the mitten is 2 cm. The rings fit up to size 10.5/6.5 mm knitting needles.

Enjoy!

THOSE ARE HILARIOUS! (beer, I think.)

I don't know how to 'subscribe' officially, but I do read your blog. So hopefully that still counts! Your hubby is very creative with that glass - he must really enjoy it.

Oh, and my favorite project so far . . . my Clapotis. I know. Boring. Been done a million times. But it was nice and easy and I wear it all the time.

My favorite thing that I have knit
was a pair of double knit mittens that I made for my husband for our
first Christmas. The thing I was proudest of having knit was a puppet
from some of my first homespun yarn.
I LOVE your blog!

So many of my projects are loved - how do I choose?

Oh, OK. How about what seems to be a favorite of others? I designed this little gem and embroidered it with a cute little bird, and then what did I do with it?

I gave it away!

Yep. It was a Blog Giveaway Carnival prize, and the link to that post is here.

Thanks for a fun contest!

So far, my favorite thing I've made is my son Cody. But I don't think that counts! Next to that, it has to be my Rona Lace
shawl.

Cute stitch markers!

Right now my favourite thing I've made is the kippa I just finished for my dad: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/artinreality/pappas-kipa

I was very scared it would end up very gaudy, as he chose white and gold to be the colours, but it really ended up quite tasteful. I am so happy about it!

It was 'given' to him for his birthday in 2007 - or rather that was when he got to choose colours etc, and now it is finally done - just in time for the holidays. Hopefully the stupid postal system will get it to him in time!

Hi all! ok, i fess up to having way too many hobbies, but one thing i "made" that is still my favorite creation would have to be when i went to school and had to create a pair of acrylic pink and whites on a model...having not lived in the state long my husband volunteered his hands. I rocked his nails and yea, he was the only male client in the class! on my blog is a pic of one hand with the acrylics, the other were starting to soak to be removed. Can you say true love? (ps, i got an A+)

Hello! My favorite thing that I have ever knitted is my Talia vest. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it up yet, so my second favorite will be my crochet babydoll dress. I'm very proud of it because it was the first crochet dress I had ever made and the largest project I had ever completed at that time.

The link:

It might give you an option to open/save image. If you don't want to do that, you can go to my blog crochetgurl.blogspot.com and search for "babydoll dress".

Thanks for letting me play!
