not knitting

Very little knitting going on 'round here, but there's been lots of sewing. You see, Leah's going to a vintage dance event next month, so she made this:

Without a pattern.

Or any help.

Sewn entirely by hand (her choice not to use the machine).

Total cost: <$14. I am told she will also use a handknit reticule that night. I didn't know what a reticule was.

Well, okey dokey, then! ;-)

Leah continues to impress and amaze me with her many talents - this dress is beyond anything I could do and I've been sewing for a good 40 or so years.

Thought of you all earlier this week, Faith Middleton did a show about homeschooling families. I didn't get to listen to the entire program, but it sounded interesting.

Impressive! I've sewed for 30 years and would not attempt a patternless feat. Kudos.

What an ambitious kid!! She looks just like a print from a Louisa May Alcott book. Petty as a picture.

Nice! Is she going to wear a corset underneath? The fit will be more authentic.
