one we like, one not so much
Well, I guess it was bound to happen eventually. Leah finally, on her fifth one, knit a Swirls hat that neither of us love. Nothing wrong with it; just the colors are not favorites around here. What is that, anyway? Chartreuse?! Grellow?! That's what we get for stepping outside of our happy purple-green-blue box. ;-)
Anybody out there want it? Leah says it's a freebie for anybody who might be interested. Just leave a comment (make sure you're signed in and/or leave an email/Rav ID/blog in the comment text) by Monday, January 26, 5:00 p.m. If more than one person wants it, we'll do a random drawing. Please be aware that this is a bucket style hat with a loose fit. If you like your hats snug, this is not the hat for you. If it doesn't find a home among this blog's readers, into the charity pile it'll go. Another new knit in the past few days is my Forest Canopy Cowl out of Malabrigo Silky Merino. This one's a keeper.
Mmmmmalabrigo!

you always show such nice projects in a variety of mediums! it is always fun to see what is new, and the assortment of swirl hats has been fun to watch! My daughters 17 year old friend would love this hat! She has very thick hair, and lots of it! So she actually needs hats that usually tend to be a bit bigger on the average person. Enjoy your week!
Ooh Ooh Ooh pick me pick me! HA Seriously, I have been admiring your hats and thinking that would be impossible for me to do. I have knit a few hats but none so lovely as this. I would be honored to own and wear one of your hats.

I really like that hat! After loading in much of my stash on Ravelry, I realize that I desperately need to get out of my green/blue/purple box. That, and I need to knit faster.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I love that hat! Just goes to show ya that what makes one knitter go meh, makes another go WOW.
Wow! I just happened upon your blog and was sucked into a big reading session. I love seeing the whole family's work in knitting and weaving and glass! How fascinating to have a chance to learn more about all this! I will for sure be back.
Also, I know this may be inappropriate since I'm on your blog for the first time, but I do LOVE Leah's funky hat! If you wanted to include me in your drawing (which I will totally leave up to you) I would be absolutely delighted and honored to wear her handiwork and I predict my husband would battle me for it as well.
Finding your blog makes me smile :-))!
the cowl looks so comfy! I have knitted the forest canopy shawl but haven't jumped into the cowl yet. On the list now...... :-)
Oooh, it's prettiful! Please put me in the drawing for the hat.
